Walk pirouette
Walk Pirouette
Description: In a walk pirouette, the horse pivots around its hind legs while continuing to walk with the front legs, creating a very small circle. The ideal walk pirouette is 360 degrees, though half-pirouettes (180 degrees) are also common.
Execution: The horse's inside hind leg acts as the pivot point, and the forehand moves around it in a tight circle. The horse should maintain a steady, even walk rhythm with clear, distinct steps throughout the manoeuvre.
Purpose: Walk pirouettes test the horse's obedience, balance, and ability to move laterally, controlled by subtle aids from the rider.
