Canter pirouette

Description: The canter pirouette is more dynamic and challenging than the walk pirouette. It is a 180 or 360-degree turn executed at the canter, with the horse maintaining the canter rhythm throughout.

Execution: Similar to the walk pirouette, the horse pivots around its inside hind leg. However, in the canter pirouette, the horse must also keep the canter's three-beat rhythm and stay collected and elevated. The forehand moves around the hindquarters in a very tight circle.

Purpose: This maneuver tests the ultimate level of collection and balance in the canter, as the horse must demonstrate significant athletic ability and training to perform it smoothly.
