Travers
Also known as haunches-in, travers is a movement where the horse is bent around the rider’s inside leg and the horse’s hindquarters are brought slightly inwards towards the arena’s centreline. The forehand stays on the track, and the bend is throughout the length of the horse’s body. Travers helps improve the horse’s flexibility and the engagement of the hind legs, and is beneficial for strengthening the horse’s inside hind leg.
